In China, WEICHAI NECV recently tested its X1 electric mini truck in a real
urban delivery scenario, proving its reliability, efficiency, and suitability
for city logistics.

Urban last-mile delivery is a key part of city life, covering supermarket
deliveries, courier and express services, and residential moving. Traditional
small trucks often face challenges with limited range and load capacity, which
can reduce efficiency and profitability. To tackle these issues, WEICHAI NECV
launched the “Nation’s Favorite Electric Truck – Unlocking New Business
Opportunities” campaign, putting the X1 through a rigorous real-world delivery
trial.
The test route stretched from Wuxi to Nanjing, China, covering 178 km on
highways with a 1.5-ton load. Throughout the journey, data on cargo, driving
conditions, battery use, and range was monitored in real time. The results
showed that the X1 maintained stable range and consistent power, completing the
long-distance delivery effortlessly and proving its reliability for short- to
mid-range urban logistics.

The X1’s powertrain features a 56 kWh Findream battery, HanDe 3.5T integrated
axle, and Sungrow all-in-one controller, supported by advanced energy management
technology. This combination ensures efficient energy use, low consumption, and
steady performance, challenging the misconception that electric mini trucks
can’t handle long trips or heavy loads. Drivers can confidently take on more
orders without worrying about range.
Cargo capacity is another strong point. The X1 offers a spacious cargo bed up
to 4,050 mm long, among the largest in its class, with alternative sizes of
3,700 mm and 3,800 mm to meet different transport needs. A low 840 mm cargo
platform makes loading and unloading easy, reducing strain and saving time. The
reinforced steel frame and dual rear tires enhance stability, traction, and
overall safety.

The X1 is also highly maneuverable in tight urban environments. With a 3,150
mm wheelbase, 6.6 m minimum turning radius, and 1.96 m height, it easily
navigates narrow streets, alleys, and underground garages. The conveniently
positioned column shifter makes gear changes easier in traffic, so drivers don’t
have to look down or take their hands off the wheel, improving both convenience
and safety.
The Wuxi-to-Nanjing test demonstrates the X1’s all-around strengths in range,
payload, and agility, showing that a well-designed electric mini truck can earn
trust in real-world operations. The “Nation’s Favorite Electric Truck” campaign
will continue in diverse scenarios, providing efficient, reliable solutions for
urban delivery while keeping city logistics running smoothly.
With the X1, WEICHAI NECV demonstrates that electric mini trucks can deliver
strong performance, operational efficiency, and real business value—making them
a practical choice for drivers and fleet operators worldwide.
