China's light truck exports have seen rapid growth in recent years, emerging
as a key driver of the country’s overall truck exports. From January to April
2025, China exported 163,000 light trucks, marking a 46% increase year-on-year
and accounting for 56.4% of total truck exports. While data for the first half
of the year has yet to be released, the strong momentum in early 2025 suggests
continued robust growth in the coming months.
Amid this growth, WEICHAI NECV has strengthened its presence in global
markets including North America, South America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East,
and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)。 In the first half of 2025, the
company shipped additional electric light trucks to the Americas and Southeast
Asia, covering various segments from mini trucks to light trucks.
Export volume rose 41% compared with the same period last year, already
surpassing the total exports for the whole of 2024. This growth is supported by
WEICHAI Group's strong supply chain and proprietary powertrain technologies.
LANDKING trucks are equipped with WEICHAI's in-house electric powertrain
system—comprising battery, electric drive and control unit. Developed in
collaboration with Bosch, Inovance and HanDe, the system delivers enhanced
performance, energy efficiency, and reliability. The product lineup includes
fuel and electric vehicles ranging from 3.5 to 18 tons.
The LANDKING H series, designed for high-frequency urban delivery, features
WEICHAI's “Golden Powertrain” — comprising WEICHAI's in-house engine, a FAST
transmission, and a HanDe axle — offering a strong balance between power and
fuel efficiency for express logistics and e-commerce distribution.
The LANDKING R series is a compact mini truck equipped with a 2.3-liter
WEICHAI engine that delivers 140 horsepower and 320 N·m of torque. Despite its small size, it offers strong
payload capacity, making it suitable for both urban and rural logistics.
For last-mile delivery, the fully electric LANDKING ER offers multiple
battery configurations, with capacities up to 66.84 kWh and a maximum range of
200 kilometers. It features a 3.5-ton rear axle, class-leading cargo volume, and
a tight turning radius of just 6.8 meters—making it well-suited for narrow
alleys and underground garages.
The LANDKING EH, built on what the company describes as the world’s first
electric light truck platform (WETP), is powered by a 96.2 kWh FinDreams blade
battery, offering up to 320 kilometers of range and supporting 30-minute fast
charging. It features L2+ advanced driver-assistance systems and is engineered
to deliver high performance in intelligence, safety, and comfort. The model has
already been exported to multiple overseas markets including the Americas and
Southeast Asia.
In July 2025, WEICHAI NECV launched the LANDKING X7, its most advanced
electric light truck to date. It is the world’s first in its class to offer an
optional 200 kWh battery, delivering a range of more than 650 kilometers on a
single charge. The vehicle is equipped with WEICHAI’s self-developed Stellar
E-Gold Power System, based on the company’s proprietary electric drivetrain
platform, and supports 2C fast charging from 20% to 80% in just 18 minutes. The
LANDKING X7 is designed for a wide range of applications, including urban
delivery, regional logistics, and operations in mountainous areas.
As demand grows for low-emission vehicles across countries involved in the
Belt and Road Initiative, WEICHAI NECV plans to accelerate its global export
efforts. The company aims to become a globally competitive brand in green
commercial vehicles, offering smart, efficient, and low-carbon solutions for the
logistics industry. To strengthen international cooperation and market
engagement, WEICHAI NECV will host a Global Partners Conference in China this
October, inviting partners and prospective clients from around the world to
explore opportunities in the future of green logistics.
